Our Group Strategy & Business Management team is part of the Group’s broader Finance Division which comprises: Financial Reporting & Treasury, Group Strategy & Business Management, Management Reporting & Facilities, and Investor Relations.  The team works closely with HKEX’s senior management, Group functions and the wider business.

Our Group Strategy team is responsible for supporting the development of new HKEX projects, programmes and initiatives by working with a wide-range of internal business functions, as well as external industry stakeholders.  In planning and executing programmes to drive efficiency, improve market transparency, reduce operational risk, and consolidate HKEX’s international competitiveness and market position, the team works to realise the initiatives contained within HKEX’s strategic plan. Strategic Plan.  Our Business Management team partners with the Group and divisional leadership teams to strategically drive business growth while proactively managing business/commercial risks and identifying efficiencies through quantitative analysis and business planning.  The team acts as a trusted partner to business lines across the Group and helps to conduct analyses that influence and facilitate more informed decision-making; optimising performance, enforcing accountability, managing P&L and financial resources, and improving business processes amidst an ever-changing competitive landscape, regulatory and capital requirements, risk environment and market demands.


As one of our Management Trainees, you will:

  • Take part in placement rotations across the Group Strategy and Business Management team
  • Identify, research and analyse broader market development and its significance to HKEX; and develop a solid understanding of the market, our financial products and investors both internationally and in the Mainland; 
  • Collaborate with internal business stakeholders and external partners to implement optimal business and technological solutions
  • Originate, execute and deliver new initiatives identified within HKEX by developing and using strong project management and analytical skills
  • Participate in shaping, enhancing and reforming Hong Kong‘s capital markets infrastructure
  • Have the opportunity to network and interact with senior management and colleagues both within HKEX as well as within the external financial community
  • Rotate across other divisions to build a solid understanding and evaluation of HKEX’s operations wherever the need arises

 

To join us, you must:

  • Fresh graduate in 2022, or recent graduate in the last two years with less than 2 years of work experience after graduation
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline
  • On track for, minimum 2:1 degree (UK), or 3.5 GPA (Hong Kong or US) or equivalent
  • Commercial awareness and interest in global financial markets
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Hardworking, proactive and able to learn and adapt quickly
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and work well as a team
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua) would be an advantage
