Global Client Director, Asia-Pacific, SWIFT
Mr Daniel De Weyer was appointed Global Client Director in 2004 and is based in Hong Kong.
Mr De Weyer assists SWIFT’s key clients in Asia Pacific to make optimal use of the SWIFT system, to identify opportunities for lowering operational risk, to increase their cost effectiveness, to uncover opportunities for business development and new revenue generation and to make sure that SWIFT is well embedded in their organisation and is part of clients’ business models.
Mr De Weyer joined SWIFT in 1988. His responsibilities included providing SWIFT training courses in Europe as a SWIFT instructor, setting up and managing the SWIFT Customer Training services in Asia-Pacific, setting up a network of Business and Service Partners for the Asia-Pacific region and servicing relations with regional central banks. Before joining SWIFT, he held various positions with KBC Bank in Belgium, where he worked with the international team with postings in Bahrain, Los Angeles and New York.
Mr De Weyer is a Belgian national and holds an MBA from the St. Ignatius School of Business, Antwerp. He also holds the Foundation Certificate from ISMA in Zurich, Switzerland.
