MK Tang is managing director in China Economics Research at Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Mr Tang worked in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as a senior manager. Earlier in his career, he was an economist at the IMF for six years, first in the research department, then at country desks covering several developed and emerging markets including the UK and Euro area. In this role, Mr Tang was also involved in the IMF's flexible credit line implementation process. His research on trade, exchange rate and monetary transmission is published in academic journals and policy working papers.

Mr Tang earned a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, where he was also a fellow at the Harvard-Yenching Institute.
