Chief Executive Officer , HKEX

Bonnie Y Chan was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited on 1 March 2024. 

Ms Chan brings more than 30 years of global capital markets leadership and expertise. She has played a leading role in supporting the transformation of Hong Kong’s listed market and infrastructure, enhancing market quality, attractiveness, and efficiency, and helping position HKEX as a leading global exchange group.

Ms Chan has held leadership roles in legal and financial services with Asia-Pacific and global responsibilities. Before becoming CEO, Ms Chan was HKEX’s Co-Chief Operating Officer, where she oversaw the Group’s key operational and strategic functions. Ms Chan first joined HKEX as Head of IPO Transactions in 2007 from Morgan Stanley, where she spent four years leading the legal function for the investment bank’s Asia capital markets business. She rejoined HKEX in 2020 as Head of Listing, after serving as a partner at international law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell focusing on capital markets between 2010 and 2019. 

Ms Chan is a frequent contributor to the World Economic Forum and is a member of the Forum’s Centre for Financial and Monetary Systems Advisory Council. 

In Hong Kong, Ms Chan served as a member of the Financial Services Development Council between 2015 and 2018, and was a member of its Board of Directors between 2019 to 2020. She was also a member of the Standing Committee of Company Law Reform and the Disciplinary Panel of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. 

Ms Chan was featured on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in business list for 2024 and was ranked in the Top 10 in Asia. She was also recognised as one of the World Federation of Exchanges’ Women Leaders between 2021 and 2023. In addition, Ms Chan was recognised among IFLR1000’s Asia Best Lawyers in 2019 and was named The American Lawyer’s Dealmaker of the Year in 2018.

Ms Chan holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School. She is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and an attorney at law in New York State.

Mr Gregory Yu joined HKEX as Managing Director and Head of Markets in March 2025.

In his role, Mr Yu oversees the development of HKEX’s Markets function, helping drive the vibrancy and depth of HKEX’s equities, derivatives, and fixed-income and currencies franchises. He is a member of the Group’s Management Committee.

Mr Yu has over 25 years of capital markets and financial services experience. He previously held senior positions at JP Morgan in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and was most recently General Manager and Head of Equities at JP Morgan Securities (China) Company in Shanghai. Prior to this, Mr Yu served as JP Morgan’s Head of Structuring and Head of Equity Derivatives Sales & Marketing for Asia Pacific. He started his career in New York with Salomon Smith Barney, and later worked at Zurich Capital Markets, as well as at BNP Paribas in New York and Hong Kong.

Mr Yu has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management and applied economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and is a Cornell University Council Member.

Mr Frank Zhang leads the strategic development of HKEX's commodities franchise in the region, with responsibility for driving product development, broadening participation, and strengthening HKEX's leadership in the Chinese Mainland and Asia Pacific commodities markets.

Mr Zhang will oversee the strategic direction of Qianhai Mercantile Exchange (QME), a subsidiary of HKEX, to capture growth in China's commodity markets.

Previously, Mr Zhang was General Manager at Zijin (Singapore) International Mining, the Singapore unit of the world's third-largest mining group. He helped establish the Singapore operation in 2022 and has taken part in transactions in ferrous and non-ferrous metals and energy markets. He was Chief Operating Officer at Maritime e-commerce platform Marine Online, and Director at Hemera International, where he oversaw investment banking and consulting projects in agriculture, metals and energy.

Mr Zhang holds a master's degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business in Texas, USA, and a bachelor's degree in science (marketing and international studies), also from SMU.

Mr. Ming Xiaochong is the Chairman of Longrun Financial Holdings Limited and the Chairman of the Chinese Futures Association of Hong Kong(HKCFA). He is also the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong(HKCSA) and the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong(HCFA) .

Mr. Ming started his career in the futures and derivatives industry in 2005 when he joined Yongan Futures Co.,Ltd. In 2007, he moved to Hong Kong to participate in the establishment of China Xin Yongan Futures Company Limited, one of the first six companies in the Chinese futures industry to pilot international business overseas. Before founding the group of companies under Longrun Financial Holdings Limited in 2011, Mr. Ming served as the Executive Director of Sinolink Securities (Hong Kong) Company Limited from 2010 to 2011.

In 2022, Mr. Ming was elected the Chairman of HKCFA. Under his leadership, the association has actively provided development consultations and advice to regulatory bodies, government departments and exchanges for the healthy development of Hong Kong's futures and derivatives industry and the building of Hong Kong's international risk management center, having a significant industry impact.

Mr. Ming graduated from Zhejiang Gongshang University with a major in International Economics and Trade in 2002, and obtained a master degree in Finance from Peking University in 2004.

Ms. Sally Kwok is currently Managing Director and Head of Stock Connect at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited. She is responsible for the strategic business development of Stock Connect and is committed to transforming it from a two-way trading channel into a comprehensive asset allocation platform. As one of HKEX’s most important and successful businesses, Stock Connect, under Ms. Kwok’s strategic leadership, is entering a new stage of development and continues to strengthen its critical role in supporting the development of China’s capital markets and serving the real economy.

Prior to taking up this strategic role, Ms. Kwok served as Head of Cash Trading and Head of Client Services at HKEX. Over the past two decades, she has led and successfully launched a number of new cash trading platforms, while continuously enhancing the market structure of both the Hong Kong market and the Stock Connect market, bringing tangible benefits to market participants and investors.

Before joining HKEX, Ms. Kwok worked at UBS Investment Bank as an Equities Business Transformation Specialist. Mr. Yi Wang, CFA, is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Head of the Investment Department at CSOP Asset Management Limited.

Mr. Wang is primarily responsible for the firm’s investment management business, including passive ETF investments across major asset classes such as equities, futures, bonds, money market instruments and OTC derivatives, as well as active fixed income and equity investment strategies.

In addition, he is a voting member of the Investment Committee and Vice Chairman of the Responsible Investment Committee of CSOP Asset Management Limited.

Prior to joining CSOP, Mr. Wang was responsible for quantitative analysis of investment strategies for insurance companies and pension institutions in the United Kingdom and Europe at Redington LLP in London.

He previously worked at Hua An Fund Management, where he participated in the development of China’s first open-end fund and first money market fund. At Huatai-PineBridge Fund Management, he led the development of the firm’s first cross-market ETF and has witnessed the development of China’s fund industry throughout its growth trajectory.

Mr. Shuming Zhang joined HKEX in February 2025 as Head of APAC Listing Issuer Services.

Prior to joining HKEX, Mr. Zhang served as Head of Equity Capital Markets, Asia Pacific at Barclays, where he was responsible for rebuilding the firm's cash equities origination business across both public and private equity markets. He brings more than 20 years of capital markets experience spanning investment banking and private banking.

Before Barclays, Mr. Zhang held senior roles at Credit Suisse, JPMorgan, Macquarie and Bank of Singapore, with postings in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.

Mr. Daniel Wang serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Hua Hong Semiconductor Limited, overseeing key functional divisions including finance, compliance, general administration, board secretarial, internal audit, and international HR. In April 2001, Mr. Wang joined Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation in Shanghai, where he took on a central leadership role at every phase of Grace’s growth and development. His responsibilities included supervising the planning and execution of the merger with HHNEC, as well as the successful initial public offerings of the merged company, Hua Hong Semiconductor, on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the STAR board at the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Grace Semiconductor, Mr. Wang served as Division Controller at LSI Logic Corporation in Silicon Valley and held a role at Franklin Templeton Investments in the U.S. Mr. Wang holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Banking from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Jianhong Zhang is the General Manager of Virtu Financial Shanghai, a QFII-qualified investment institution, where he is responsible for the development of the firm's China business. Virtu Financial's parent company is a U.S.-listed company and a leading global financial market maker.

Prior to joining Virtu Financial, Mr. Zhang held positions at Longriver Investments, Bridgewater Associates, and the Reserve Management Department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).

Mr. Zhang holds master's degrees from Harvard University and Peking University, and a bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Ms. Toby Cheung has over nine years of experience at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), where she specializes in Swap Connect, Cross-Currency Swaps, and Interest Rate Swaps clearing business development. She has played an active role in advancing clearing services and enhancing market connectivity across the region.

Prior to joining HKEX, Ms. Cheung worked in HSBC’s Global Markets Derivatives Clearing Services team, where she was responsible for the clearing of global futures and derivatives products.

Ms. Cheung holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia.

Kyle Tan is the Head of Global Financial Markets (GFM), Hong Kong. Assuming this role in July 2026. Kyle is responsible for Sales, Trading, Fixed Income activities, business strategy and overall management of GFM in HK.

Prior to his appointment as Head of GFM HK, Kyle was Head of GFM of DBS Bank (China) Limited.

He joined DBS China in March 2007 as Trading Head & Vice Chairman of China ALCO. He engaged actively in the setup of DBS China subsidiary. He built up the China trading team and repeatedly won awards from the official China Foreign Exchange Trading System over the years.

Previously, he worked as a securitisation policy analyst at the Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation in Toronto, Canada. He has a Bachelor in Economics from Fudan University in Shanghai, and a Master in Economics from the University of Victoria in Canada.

Ms. Li Sha Gao is currently Head of the FICC Department at Huatai Securities and Co-Head of the FICC Department at Huatai International, leading FICC business across domestic and offshore markets since September 2025.

Prior to this, she served as Managing Director of the FICC Department at Guolian Securities Co., Ltd., and as CEO of its Hong Kong subsidiary from 2019 to 2025, where she consistently held a senior management role and led various teams. Ms. Gao was previously Managing Director at Bohai Securities Co., Ltd. from 2017 to 2019, responsible for FICC trading. She began her career at CITIC Securities, where she spent nearly a decade (2008–2017) and held the position of Head of the Central Trading Desk in the FICC Department. 

Ms. Li Sha Gao is currently Head of the FICC Department at Huatai Securities and Co-Head of the FICC Department at Huatai International, leading FICC business across domestic and offshore markets since September 2025.

Mr. Zhou Zhaoping is Head of Macro Derivatives Development in Fixed Income and Currency Development at HKEX, responsible for the product development of macro-related derivatives products. Mr. Zhou joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) in 2016. From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Zhou concurrently served as Chief Operating Officer of Bond Connect Company Limited. He played a key role in the successful launch of major fixed income market initiatives, including Bond Connect and Swap Connect, which have become important milestones in connecting Mainland Chinese markets with international investors.  

Prior to joining HKEX, Mr. Zhou worked at the People’s Bank of China and BNP Paribas. He holds a PhD in Economics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Before joining ChinaAMC (HK), she served as an Investment Manager in the Fixed Income Investment Department at Fosun International Limited. In this role, she was responsible for investments in US and Asian investment-grade bonds, as well as emerging market high-yield bonds. She assisted the CIO in managing global fixed income portfolios and completed the establishment of the firm's trading platform.

Prior to that, from 2011 to 2015, she worked in the Asset Management and Fixed Income departments at Guotai Junan (Hong Kong), where she assisted in managing Asian high-yield bond portfolios. Notably, in 2012, as one of the key persons in charge, she assisted Guotai Junan in establishing the first RQFII public fund in Hong Kong.
